After New York writer Jennifer Hills' first novel has been excoriated by the critics she decides to spend the summer in the country to clear her head. But a relaxing sabbatical soon turns into a nightmare when her cabin is broken into by four local men and a shy pathological man. They sexually assault and psychologically torture her. The one man she thinks will saver her is in on it too. She attempts an escape but soon realises they will never let her go alive. She jumps off a cliff in a final act of defiance. Amazingly she survives...but she'll never be the same. Jennifer does not go for help but instead plots her revenge. And hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
