Joe Cocker is one of rock and rolls enduring performers. His gutsy, gravely, vocal style and unique dynamic stage presence has endeared him to music fans around the world. From his working class roots in Sheffield, he made his way into the music business, hooking up with Chris Stainton with whom he recorded Marjorine. Shortly thereafter they hit the big time when they recorded The Beatles, With A Little Help From My Friends, featuring guest performers Jimmy Page & Steve Winwood. The title track is arguably Cockers best; it became a major highlight of the Woodstock Festival in 1969. The hits followed as did the mental and physical payback for Cockers relentless touring schedule and rock n roll lifestyle, his episodes of public drunkenness became as well know as his talent.
