Repossessed (1990) is a horror-comedy parody directed by Bob Logan, starring Linda Blair, Leslie Nielsen, and Ned Beatty. A spoof of The Exorcist (1973), the film follows Nancy Aglet (Blair), a suburban housewife who becomes possessed by a demon decades after surviving an earlier exorcism as a child. Veteran exorcist Father Jebedaiah Mayii (Nielsen) is called out of retirement to battle the evil spirit once again, leading to a series of absurd, slapstick encounters filled with pop culture references and over-the-top gags. With its goofy humor, satirical jabs at televangelism, and Leslie Nielsen’s signature deadpan comedy, Repossessed is a lighthearted, campy take on demonic possession films.
