Apollo 13 (1995) is a gripping space drama directed by Ron Howard, starring Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton, Kevin Bacon, Gary Sinise, and Ed Harris. Based on true events, the film chronicles NASA’s 1970 Apollo 13 mission, which was meant to land on the moon but turned into a desperate fight for survival after an oxygen tank explosion cripples the spacecraft. As astronauts Jim Lovell (Hanks), Fred Haise (Paxton), and Jack Swigert (Bacon) struggle against dwindling resources in space, Mission Control, led by Gene Kranz (Harris), races to find a way to bring them home safely.
