Jean a builder his wife Anne-Marie and son Jeremy live a simple happy life. When Jeremy's teacher Mademoiselle Chambon finds herself in a bind for a parent to address the class on their vocation she asks Jean. The pair bond and when Jean offers to fix a broken window at her flat the attraction is palpable. But just then Anne-Marie announces she is pregnant and Jean and the teacher must revaluate their intentions.
