The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988) is a visually extravagant fantasy adventure directed by Terry Gilliam. John Neville stars as the legendary Baron Munchausen, an eccentric nobleman whose outrageous tales blur the line between reality and imagination. As his city faces destruction by the Ottoman Empire, the Baron embarks on a fantastical journey with a young girl (Sarah Polley) to recruit his old companions, encountering surreal landscapes, mythical beings, and impossible feats along the way.
