Jack Nicholson stars in this classic horror movie as Napoleonic solider Lieutenant Andre Duvalier, who has been separated from his regiment on the north German coast. Disorientated and malnourished Duvalier encounters a mysterious woman named Helene, who comes to his aid but vanishes as quickly as she had appeared. Bewitched by her beauty, Duvalier is determined to find her and his search leads him to the imposing castle of Baron Von Leppe (Boris Karloff). Behind the castle's crumbling walls Duvalier will discover the young woman's identity and the true terror that lies within.
